Nicolas Jackson: Aston Villa eye move for Chelsea and Senegal striker
Nicolas Jackson, the Senegal and Gambia international centre-forward at Chelsea, is the subject of transfer interest from Premier League rivals Aston Villa. The Midlands club are exploring a move for the 25-year-old, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer after a season on loan at Bayern Munich.
Jackson is under a long-term contract at Chelsea until 30 June 2033, a factor likely to complicate any negotiations and drive up the fee required to prise him away. He is currently valued at around €40 million, having previously peaked at €55 million during his spell in Germany.
Chelsea signed Jackson from Villarreal in July 2023 for €37 million, and he has since delivered 24 goals and 10 assists in 65 Premier League appearances. He also featured in the Champions League and domestic cups for the London club before moving to Bayern last season, where he won the Bundesliga and German Cup.
Aston Villa’s interest comes as they look to add a proven top-flight goalscorer with European and World Cup experience. Jackson has appeared at the 2026 World Cup with Senegal, making four appearances and providing one assist.
Chelsea must decide whether to cash in on a forward who has already contributed to their Club World Cup and European successes, or retain him as part of their long-term plans given the length of his deal and his recent development in Germany.
