Glody Lilepo: DR Congo winger at Kaizer Chiefs linked with Al-Nasr move in Libya

DR Congo winger Glody Lilepo of Kaizer Chiefs is being linked with a move to Libyan Premier League side Al-Nasr as the 28-year-old enters the final year of his contract in South Africa.

Lilepo, primarily a right winger, is under contract with Chiefs until 30 June 2027 but has attracted attention after establishing himself in the Betway Premiership since arriving at Naturena in January 2025. Chiefs paid a reported €500,000 to sign him from French side Valenciennes, and his current market valuation stands at around €700,000, a figure likely to shape any negotiations with Al-Nasr.

The Kinshasa-born attacker has become a regular presence in South Africa’s top flight, making 42 league appearances for Chiefs and contributing 11 goals and five assists. His performances have coincided with silverware, having helped the club to the Nedbank Cup in the 2024-25 campaign, a success that underlined his impact in domestic competition.

Before moving to South Africa, Lilepo gained experience in both African and European football, including spells with Sudanese club Al-Hilal and in France’s Ligue 2 with Valenciennes, as well as impressive scoring returns in continental competition in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

While interest from Al-Nasr highlights his growing profile in North Africa and beyond, Chiefs retain a strong contractual position, and any deal would require the Libyan club to meet the Soweto side’s valuation of one of their key attacking players, who remains tied to the club for another season after this one.
