Zamalek consider Vuk Rašović among candidates for head coach role

Egyptian giants Zamalek are considering Serbian tactician Vuk Rašović as one of the leading candidates to become the club’s new head coach as they continue their search for a new manager ahead of the upcoming season.

The Cairo-based club is closely monitoring the 53-year-old coach, who has emerged as a potential option to take charge of the White Knights.

While no official appointment has been made, Rašović is understood to be among the names under evaluation as Zamalek’s hierarchy weighs up its options for the vacant position.

Rašović boasts extensive coaching experience across Europe and the Middle East. The former Partizan Belgrade defender has managed clubs including Partizan, Dinamo Minsk, Al Faisaly, Al Dhafra, Al Wahda and Al-Fayha, where he guided the Saudi Arabian club to a historic King’s Cup triumph during his tenure.

Most recently, he was in charge of UAE Pro League side Kalba FC before leaving the club earlier this year.

His experience in Arab football is believed to be one of the factors attracting Zamalek’s interest as the club seeks a coach capable of competing for domestic honours and making a strong impact in continental competitions.

Zamalek’s search for a new manager remains ongoing, with the club expected to assess several foreign candidates before reaching a final decision.

Rašović’s name has now entered the conversation as one of the serious contenders, although it remains unclear whether formal negotiations have commenced.

The Egyptian powerhouse is keen to appoint a coach with a proven track record and international experience as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
