Johnmark Atule: Shooting Stars Eye Move for Kwara United’s Nigerian Attacking Midfielder

Nigeria’s Johnmark Atule, currently at Kwara United, is being linked with a move to NPFL rivals Shooting Stars as the Ibadan club explore options to strengthen their attacking midfield department. The 22-year-old, whose contract with Kwara United runs until 30 June 2027, has emerged as a potential target after his performances in the Nigerian top flight and on the continental stage.

Atule, an attacking midfielder wearing the No. 11 shirt for Kwara United, has made 42 league appearances in the NPFL, scoring eight goals. He has also impressed in limited continental action, finding the net twice in just two outings in the CAF Confederation Cup. Those contributions have helped elevate his estimated market value to around €150,000.

Kwara United signed Atule from Lobi Stars on 22 August 2025, and his current deal means any move to Shooting Stars would require a transfer fee rather than a free transfer scenario. The length of his contract places Kwara United in a strong negotiating position as they weigh up interest from a direct league rival.

With both clubs operating in the NPFL and the player still in the early stages of his Kwara United career, Shooting Stars would likely need to present a compelling proposal to test his current employers’ resolve.
