Abdellah Khafifi: Morocco defender leaves Raja Casablanca and becomes free agent

Moroccan centre-back Abdellah Khafifi has left Raja Casablanca and is now a free agent after his contract with the Botola Pro champions came to an end.

The 33-year-old defender, born in Oujda and standing at 1.83m, departs Raja with his market valuation standing at around €550,000. His exit was confirmed on 20 July 2026, bringing his latest spell in Casablanca to a close three years after he arrived from Qatar.

Khafifi rejoined Moroccan domestic football in July 2023 when he signed for Raja on a free transfer from Umm Salal. During his time back in the Botola Pro Inwi, he was part of a side that dominated domestically, contributing to a league and cup double in the 2023-24 season.

A right-footed central defender, Khafifi built his reputation in Moroccan football with Mouloudia before first moving abroad in 2022 to join Umm Salal, also on a free transfer. Across his career in the Botola Pro Inwi, he has made almost 200 appearances, scoring 14 goals and adding three assists, while surpassing 17,000 minutes on the pitch in the competition.

His experience extends beyond domestic football. Khafifi has featured in the CAF Champions League and has also played in Qatar’s Stars League and domestic cup competitions, where he added extra goals from the back in the QSL Cup. Internationally, he was part of the Morocco side that lifted the African Nations Championship title in the 2020-21 campaign.

Khafifi’s departure means he leaves Raja Casablanca as a free agent following a successful spell capped by major silverware.
