El Sayed Ateya: Egyptian goalkeeper joins Nabaroh on free transfer from Seid El Mahalla

Egyptian goalkeeper El Sayed Ateya has joined Nabaroh from Seid El Mahalla on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2028.

The 25-year-old moves after a single season with Seid El Mahalla, continuing a sequence of short-term spells across Egyptian clubs in recent years. His arrival gives Nabaroh a new long-term option in goal, with the deal confirmed on 20 July 2026.

Born in Mahalla in February 2001, Ateya has built up experience across multiple levels of the domestic game. A right-footed goalkeeper, he first came to wider attention at Zamalek, stepping up from the club’s U21 side to the senior squad in 2022.

During his time at Zamalek, Ateya was part of the team that won the Egyptian league title in the 2021-22 season, earning an Egyptian champion’s medal before later moving on in search of regular action. He left the Cairo giants for El Nasr Tadeen in September 2023, beginning a run of free transfers that has now taken him to Nabaroh.

After half a season with El Nasr Tadeen, Ateya switched to El Shorta in January 2024, then joined United Sport in the summer of 2024, again on a free. A year later he moved to Seid El Mahalla for the 2025-26 campaign.

Ateya now commits his future to Nabaroh until 2028, completing a free transfer from Seid El Mahalla.
