Walid Mostafa: Egyptian winger joins Modern Sport on free transfer from Pharco FC
Egyptian left midfielder Walid Mostafa has joined Modern Sport on a free transfer from fellow Premier League side Pharco FC. The 26-year-old, who is left-footed and can operate across the left flank, makes the move ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League campaign.
Mostafa arrives at Modern Sport as a free agent after his spell with Pharco, having initially signed for them in January 2024. His switch strengthens Modern Sport’s wide options, with the club securing a player who has gained consistent top-flight experience over the past few seasons.
Born in Minya on 22 December 1999, the 1.75m winger has accumulated 56 Premier League appearances, scoring once and providing four assists. He has also featured regularly in domestic cup competitions, adding further minutes in the Egyptian League Cup and Egypt Cup, as well as in relegation and championship play-offs.
Before his time at Pharco, Mostafa had spells with several Egyptian clubs, including Al Ahly and Modern Future, following earlier loan stints at El Mahalla and El Dakhlia that helped establish him at senior level. His market value has risen to €150,000, underlining the development in his standing within the Egyptian game.
Mostafa’s move to Modern Sport was completed on 20 July 2026 as a free transfer from Pharco FC.
