Hervé Renard has reportedly declined the position of coach at Sochaux, a club currently facing a crisis in terms of results. Although Renard had expressed interest, the French coach has other aspirations. Currently in charge of the Zambian national team, Renard has submitted his candidacy to the Gabonese Football Federation to become the head coach of the Gabon national team, seeking to succeed Paulo Duarte. The reasons for his refusal of the Sochaux position have not been officially disclosed. Sochaux, after dismissing its coach earlier this season, suffered a 1-4 defeat against Bordeaux on the same day that Omar Daf, who was interim coach, decided not to continue in the role.
