Exauce Mpembele Boula: France-DR Congo winger joins Bourg-en-Bresse on loan from Boulogne
Bourg-en-Bresse have signed France-DR Congo winger Exauce Mpembele Boula on loan from US Boulogne. The 24-year-old left-sided attacker, who was born in Kinshasa and stands at 1.85m, joins the Ligue 3 side for the 2026-27 season.
Mpembele Boula is under contract at Boulogne but will spend the campaign with Bourg-en-Bresse, with the loan running until 30 June 2027. The move keeps him in French football while giving him a full season in the third tier to build on his recent form.
The right-footed left winger moved to Boulogne on a free transfer from Lorient B in 2025 and has since had loan spells to increase his game time, including a stint with Paris 13 Atletico in the 2025-26 campaign. He now switches to Bourg-en-Bresse with a market value of around €150,000.
Mpembele Boula arrives with an impressive scoring record in France’s lower divisions. Across his time in National 2 and National 1 he has produced several double-figure goal seasons, including a standout campaign in which he hit 20 league goals and finished as top scorer in Championnat National 3 Group C in 2024-25.
His youth development came at Lille, where he progressed from the U17s to the U19s and then Lille B, gaining experience in the UEFA Youth League and the Coupe Gambardella. Senior appearances have also included outings in Ligue 2, Ligue 3 and the Coupe de France, where he has previously found the net.
Mpembele Boula’s loan to Bourg-en-Bresse is in place for the 2026-27 season, after which he is due to return to Boulogne.
