Noel Aseko’s move to Eintracht Frankfurt delivers €2.5m profit for Hannover

Noel Aseko’s move from Bayern Munich to Eintracht Frankfurt has handed Hannover 96 a significant financial boost, with the German second-tier club set to make an overall profit of nearly €2.5 million from the 20-year-old’s transfer.

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of the German midfielder of Equatorial Guinea descent in a deal worth €12 million, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a contract that runs until 2031.

Hannover benefit from smart transfer strategy

Although Aseko joined Frankfurt from Bayern Munich, Hannover are among the biggest winners from the transfer after negotiating favourable clauses during the player’s previous move.

Hannover had initially exercised a purchase option to sign Aseko for €1 million, before Bayern activated a buy-back clause worth €2.5 million.

Former sporting director Marcus Mann also secured a sell-on clause, ensuring the club would benefit financially if Bayern sold the midfielder again.

Sell-on clause pays off

With Bayern agreeing to sell Aseko to Eintracht Frankfurt, Hannover will now receive an additional €950,000 through the negotiated sell-on agreement.

The combined transactions mean the 2. Bundesliga side will make a total profit of almost €2.5 million from their dealings involving the Cameroon international.

New chapter at Frankfurt

Aseko now begins the next stage of his career at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he will hope to establish himself in the Bundesliga after completing his move from Bayern.
