Hassan Mubiru: Uganda winger swaps SC Villa for Azam FC in East African move

Uganda winger Hassan Mubiru has joined Tanzanian club Azam FC from SC Villa Jogoo, completing a cross-border switch that strengthens the attacking options of the Dar es Salaam side.

The 21-year-old right winger moves from the Uganda Premier League to one of Tanzania’s leading outfits, stepping into a new league after emerging with SC Villa, one of Uganda’s most prominent clubs. The transfer is a confirmed deal between the two East African sides, underlining Azam’s intent to recruit young regional talent for their forward line.

Mubiru arrives at Azam FC with a listed market value of €175,000, a figure that reflects his status as a developing wide player already established at domestic top-flight level in Uganda. His primary role on the right flank offers Azam additional pace and width, as they reshape their squad ahead of the new campaign.

At SC Villa Jogoo, Mubiru featured in Uganda’s top division, gaining experience in a competitive environment and testing himself against the country’s strongest sides.
