Morocco’s Amine El Ouazzani begins Angers journey after Braga loan move

Moroccan forward Amine El Ouazzani has begun training with Angers after completing a season-long loan move from Portuguese club SC Braga, becoming the French side’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.

The Ligue 1 club confirmed the arrival of the 25-year-old on Monday as they continue rebuilding their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Angers strengthen attacking options

El Ouazzani joins an Angers side that has been active in the transfer market following the departure of head coach Alexandre Dujeux earlier this summer.

The club have already added Anthony Bermont from RC Lens, experienced goalkeeper Anthony Lopes on a free transfer after his departure from FC Nantes, midfielder Branco Van den Boomen following the termination of his Ajax contract, and defender Usman Simbakoli on a permanent deal.

The Moroccan striker is the latest addition as Angers look to strengthen their attacking options.

Return to familiar surroundings

The move marks a return to French football for El Ouazzani, who began his career in France before moving abroad.

He made 55 appearances for Bourg-en-Bresse, scoring 11 goals, before spending two seasons with Ligue 2 side Guingamp, where he established himself as a promising forward.

His performances in France earned him a move to Portuguese side Braga.

Opportunity for a fresh start

El Ouazzani endured a difficult first season in Portugal, scoring two goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for Braga.

The loan switch to Angers offers the Morocco international an opportunity to rediscover his best form with regular playing time in Ligue 1.
