Nianankoro Doumbia: Mali-French midfielder joins Bourges FC on free transfer

Mali-French midfielder Nianankoro Doumbia has joined Bourges FC on a free transfer from US Chantilly.

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder moves across the French National divisions, switching from Group A side Chantilly to Group C outfit Bourges ahead of the new campaign. The deal sees him continue his career in the French lower leagues, where he has been a regular presence for several seasons.

Doumbia, born in Tremblay-en-France and standing at 1.81m, arrives with extensive experience in the National 1 and National 2 structure, as well as game time in Ligue 3 and cup competitions. Across his senior career he has made more than 200 appearances in league and cup football, contributing in defensive midfield with a blend of ball-winning and positional discipline.

Before his spell at Chantilly, which he also joined on a free transfer in 2025, Doumbia played for Andrezieux and SAS Epinal, building a consistent record in National 1. Earlier in his career he featured for SO Cholet, JA Drancy and FC Martigues after progressing through the youth ranks at SM Caen and US Boulogne.

Right-footed and primarily used in the holding role, Doumbia has also appeared in the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue, adding domestic cup experience to his league resume. His move gives Bourges FC an established midfield option as they prepare for life in National 1 Group C.

Doumbia’s switch from US Chantilly to Bourges FC is confirmed as a free transfer effective 20 July 2026.
