Konyaspor show strong interest in Eintracht Frankfurt left‑back Niels Nkounkou

A departure from Eintracht Frankfurt for Niels Nkounkou is moving closer, with Turkish top‑flight side Konyaspor now emerging as a serious destination for the French left‑back.

Initial rumours in the Turkish media have been backed up by club‑focused journalist Christopher Michel, who confirms that Konyaspor are actively working on a deal and have already held talks with Frankfurt. At this stage, the transfer largely depends on Nkounkou’s own decision.

Eintracht are reportedly seeking a fee of around €4 million but are also open to discussing a loan move, giving Konyaspor some flexibility in how they structure the deal. Nkounkou’s contract with Frankfurt runs until 2028, yet recent weeks have made it clear he is no longer central to the club’s plans. The defender has been training on a reduced programme, like other potential departures, and was left out of some full‑squad training games.

He did start and play the first half in Saturday’s 7-1 friendly win over FC Gieben, but the overall trajectory points toward a summer exit. With Konyaspor now the first concrete suitor, a switch to the Süper Lig could take shape in the coming days or weeks.
