Nathaniel Chilambo: Tanzania right-back joins Simba SC from Azam FC in completed transfer
Tanzania defender Nathaniel Chilambo has joined Simba SC from Azam FC, with the 22-year-old right-back completing a move that keeps him in the top tier of domestic football.
Chilambo, born in Dar es Salaam and comfortable at right-back, switches to Simba after spending the last few seasons with Azam. The transfer strengthens the defensive options of one of Tanzania’s leading clubs, with the player moving on the back of regular involvement in continental competition.
The 1.68m full-back has already built up valuable experience beyond the league, featuring in both the CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League. He made three appearances in the Confederation Cup and one in the Champions League, playing a combined 300 minutes across the two tournaments and gaining exposure against international opposition.
Chilambo first arrived at Azam from Ruvu Shooting in the 2022–23 season, working his way up to a role that earned him minutes in Africa’s major club competitions. His progress at Azam has now led to a transfer to Simba, where he will continue to operate primarily on the right side of defence and is expected to contribute with his right-footed play from the flank.
The right-back’s move from Azam FC to Simba SC was completed on 20 July 2026.
