RS Berkane threaten legal action over Paul Valère Bassin’s move to Al Karma

Moroccan giants RS Berkane have threatened to take legal action against striker Paul Valère Bassin after the player was unveiled by Iraqi club Al Karma despite reportedly remaining under contract with the Botola Pro side.

The Ivorian forward was recently presented as a new signing by Al Karma, with the Iraqi club announcing his arrival as part of their preparations for the upcoming campaign. However, RS Berkane insist that the transfer was completed without their approval and have rejected the move.

According to the Moroccan club, Bassin still has a valid contract with RS Berkane and is not free to join another team. The club has therefore ordered the striker to immediately return to Morocco while they assess the next steps.

RS Berkane are now prepared to pursue legal measures to protect their interests, arguing that the player’s move to Al Karma constitutes a breach of contractual obligations.

The situation has created uncertainty over Bassin’s future, with the striker caught between two clubs as RS Berkane seek clarification and possible compensation over the disputed transfer.

Bassin’s case could now become a subject of legal proceedings if both parties fail to reach an agreement, potentially involving football governing bodies to determine the validity of the move.
