Mohamed Amine Tougai set for Al Ahli Tripoli Move in €1.7m deal

Algerian international defender Mohamed Amine Tougai is close to completing a move from Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis to Libyan club Al Ahli Tripoli, with negotiations between the two sides progressing towards a final agreement.

The highly rated centre-back is expected to leave Tunisia after a successful spell with Espérance, where he established himself as a key figure in the club’s defence and gained valuable experience in domestic and continental competitions.

Reports indicate that the transfer fee for Tougai’s move is around €1.7 million, with Al Ahli Tripoli pushing to secure the services of the Algeria international as they strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Tougai, who has been a regular part of the Algerian national team setup, is regarded as one of the most dependable defenders in North African football.

His physical presence, aerial ability and composure at the back have made him a sought-after player in the region.

The 25-year-old joined Espérance in 2020 and played an important role in the club’s success, featuring prominently in their campaigns in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 and CAF competitions.

A successful completion of the deal will bring an end to Tougai’s time in Tunisia and mark the beginning of a new chapter in Libya, where Al Ahli Tripoli are aiming to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for major honours.
