Jephte Kitambala: DR Congo striker joins AS FAR Rabat from Maniema

DR Congo forward Jephte Kitambala has joined Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat from Congolese club Maniema. The 27-year-old centre-forward moves to the Botola Pro Inwi club after establishing himself as a regular in continental competition.

Kinshasa-born Kitambala, who stands at 1.90m and plays primarily through the middle, makes the switch after a series of seasons in DR Congo’s top flight, most recently with Maniema. His arrival adds a powerful, right-footed attacking option to AS FAR’s squad as they prepare for domestic and African campaigns.

Kitambala has built up significant experience in CAF competitions, featuring in both the Confederation Cup and Champions League. He has made 24 appearances and scored eight goals in the CAF Confederation Cup, and also played 11 times in the CAF Champions League, giving AS FAR a forward familiar with high-intensity knockout football.

The move to Rabat follows a spell of frequent transfers within Central and East Africa. Kitambala rejoined Maniema in 2024 after time with Congolese giants TP Mazembe, and spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Tanzanian club Azam FC before returning to Maniema at the end of that campaign.

Earlier in his career he alternated between Mazembe and CS Don Bosco, including a loan stint with Don Bosco that concluded in 2021, before consolidating his reputation in DR Congo’s domestic league. His new deal with AS FAR Rabat was finalised on 20 July 2026, confirming his move from Maniema to the Moroccan top flight.
