Sanele Tshabalala: South African goalkeeper joins Kruger United from Golden Arrows

South African goalkeeper Sanele Tshabalala has joined Betway Premiership side Kruger United from Golden Arrows. The 28-year-old, who was born in Soweto, Gauteng, makes the switch within South Africa’s top flight as he looks to establish himself with his new club.

Tshabalala arrives at Kruger United having spent last season with Golden Arrows, whom he joined in July 2025 from Mamelodi Sundowns’ reserve side. His move keeps him in familiar surroundings in the Premiership, with Kruger United adding an experienced option between the posts ahead of the new campaign.

The 1.77m stopper has built a career entirely within South African football, progressing through several of the country’s leading clubs. After coming through at Bidvest Wits, he stepped up from Bidvest Wits juniors to the senior team in 2017 before moving to Kaizer Chiefs in 2018, splitting his time between the first team and the club’s second side.

In 2019 Tshabalala left Chiefs for Moroka Swallows, where consistent performances earned him a switch to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2023. He later moved into the Sundowns reserve set-up before Golden Arrows took him to Durban ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Tshabalala’s honours include a South African league title in the 2024–25 campaign with Mamelodi Sundowns, adding proven championship experience to the Kruger United dressing room. Now at what should be the peak years of his career, the goalkeeper links up with Kruger United after his transfer from Golden Arrows was finalised on 19 July 2026.
