Maximilian Baafi: German-Ghanaian winger joins Viktoria Zizkov on free transfer
German-Ghanaian winger Maximilian Baafi has joined Czech side Viktoria Zizkov on a free transfer from FC Twente U21. The 22-year-old right-sided attacker makes the move to the Czech National Football League as he looks to establish himself in senior European football.
Baafi arrives in Prague after a spell in the Netherlands with FC Twente’s under-21 team, who compete in the U21 Div. 1 Fall competition. His switch to Zizkov is a permanent deal following the end of his time with the Eredivisie club’s development setup.
Capable of operating primarily on the right flank, Baafi adds pace and width to a Viktoria Zizkov squad preparing for the new campaign in the Czech second tier. The move offers him a pathway into regular first-team football after his formative years in a youth and reserve environment at Twente.
The dual-nationality winger becomes one of the latest foreign additions to the Czech league system, continuing Viktoria Zizkov’s policy of recruiting from across Europe to strengthen their attacking options. His development in Dutch youth football provides experience of a technical, possession-based style that Zizkov will hope to integrate into their approach.
Baafi’s transfer was completed on 19 July 2026, with the player now registered to compete for Viktoria Zizkov in the upcoming ChNL season.
