Thabang Sibanyoni: South African striker linked with Kruger United move from Magesi FC

South African centre-forward Thabang Sibanyoni of Magesi FC is being linked with a move to Betway Premiership side Kruger United as the 30-year-old approaches the end of his contract.

Sibanyoni’s deal with Magesi runs until 30 June 2026, raising the prospect that he could be available on a free transfer if no extension is agreed. Kruger United are understood to be exploring options to bolster their attack ahead of the new Premiership campaign and have identified the experienced forward as a potential addition.

The striker joined Magesi permanently in August 2025 after an initial loan spell earlier that year, following a long association with Sundowns which included a series of loans across the South African game. His current market valuation stands at around €150,000, a figure that is shaping discussions over whether Magesi might look to cash in before the final year of his deal or risk losing him for nothing.

Sibanyoni has extensive top-flight experience, with 59 Betway Premiership appearances yielding six goals and two assists, alongside further contributions in domestic cup competitions. That track record, and his familiarity with relegation and promotion battles, is thought to appeal to a Kruger United side seeking proven depth rather than a developmental project.

Magesi, who secured the forward on a free transfer from Sundowns, must now weigh up whether to open talks over fresh terms or listen to interest from within the Premiership. With his contract running down, Sibanyoni’s future is increasingly likely to be resolved in the coming months as both clubs assess their attacking options for 2026-27.
