Mame Alassane Niang: Porto eye move for Senegalese HamKam striker

Mame Alassane Niang, the Senegalese centre-forward currently at HamKam, is being linked with a move to Portuguese giants Porto. The Liga Portugal club are monitoring the 20-year-old as they assess attacking options for the current window, with the Norwegian side understood to be braced for interest in one of their key players.

Niang has been a central figure for HamKam in the early stages of the 2026 Eliteserien season, scoring six goals in 11 league appearances. Operating as a left-footed centre-forward, he has started the vast majority of matches and has been involved in a third of the club’s league goals, underlining his importance to the team’s attack.

Standing at 1.97m, Niang offers a notable physical presence through the middle, something that is likely to appeal to Porto as they look at longer-term options for their forward line. His performances in Norway’s top flight have quickly drawn attention despite his relative lack of experience at senior level.

HamKam are in a strong position to negotiate, with Niang under contract until 31 December 2029 after joining the club in July 2026. His current market valuation is around €1.8 million, a figure that gives an initial indication of the level of fee required to tempt the Eliteserien side into talks.

For now, Niang remains a HamKam player and continues to lead the line in Norway, with his long-term contract giving the club significant leverage as speculation over a potential move to Porto develops.
