Umar Lutalo: Ugandan left-back linked with BUL Jinja move from KCCA FC
Ugandan defender Umar Lutalo is being linked with a move from KCCA FC to Uganda Premier League rivals BUL Jinja, with the 22-year-old left-back emerging as a potential domestic transfer ahead of the new campaign.
Lutalo, a left-footed full-back currently on the books at Kampala Capital City Authority FC, has been the subject of interest from the Jinja club as they look to strengthen in the same division. Any deal would keep the defender within the Uganda Premier League, reducing the upheaval for a player who has already changed clubs twice in the last two seasons.
The former Kitara and SC Villa Jogoo player joined KCCA FC in February 2025 on a free transfer and has since put together a notable run of games. In league action, he has made 32 appearances with seven goals and two assists, returning an attacking output that stands out for a defender and underlining why he has attracted attention from within the league.
Lutalo’s current market value is estimated at around €150,000, a figure that provides a reference point for any negotiations between KCCA and BUL Jinja as they weigh up the cost of a deal within the domestic market.
With no contract end date publicly disclosed, KCCA FC retain control over the player’s immediate future, and any transfer is likely to depend on whether BUL Jinja are prepared to meet the Kampala club’s valuation of one of their regular starters at left-back.
