Kenedy: Cape Verde-Portugal striker leaves Lorentzweiler after contract expiry

Cape Verde and Portugal forward Kenedy has left Luxembourg side Lorentzweiler to become a free agent after his contract with the Ehrenpromotion club came to an end.

The 25-year-old centre-forward departs Lorentzweiler without a new club lined up and is now available on a free transfer. His exit ends his spell in Luxembourg’s second tier, where he had been part of a squad competing in the Ehrenpromotion.

Kenedy, who is eligible to represent both Cape Verde and Portugal, is primarily used through the middle as a central striker. His release gives him the opportunity to assess interest from elsewhere ahead of the new campaign, with clubs able to sign him outside of a transfer fee.

The move marks a reset in the forward’s career, with his time at Lorentzweiler now concluded following the closure of his most recent deal. Having spent his latest spell in Luxembourg, he now faces the next phase of his professional journey as an unattached player.

Kenedy’s status as without a club is effective from 19 July 2026, confirming his departure from Lorentzweiler and placing him on the market for potential suitors.
