Alphonso Davies embraces battle with Nathaniel Brown at Bayern Munich
Alphonso Davies looks set to stay at Bayern Munich and fight for his place after recent speculation over a move away.
Reports from Munich state that, despite interest from Saudi Arabia, a transfer is currently “no topic” for the 25‑year‑old left-back, who instead wants to embrace the internal competition.
Bayern have signed German international Nathaniel Brown for the left side of defence, a player viewed as a key request from coach Vincent Kompany and someone who could quickly claim a starting role thanks to his versatility. Davies knows this raises the stakes, but he is not prepared to give up his position without a battle. After a season heavily disrupted by injuries, he aims to prove once again that he can be a reliable first-choice option.
Davies’ main focus now is staying fit. Having suffered several setbacks over the past two years, he wants to finally put those problems behind him, regain his top form and come out on top in the duel with Brown. Bayern, for their part, are happy to have two high‑level options on the left as they head into the new campaign.
