Samuel Adenola: English-Nigerian right-back leaves Hemel to become free agent
English-Nigerian defender Samuel Adenola has left National League South side Hemel and is now a free agent after bringing his spell with the club to an end on 17 July 2026. The 24-year-old right-back departs having established himself at step two of the English pyramid and is available to sign for a new club.
London-born Adenola, who plays primarily at right-back and is right-footed, joined Hemel from Hendon in December 2024 on a free transfer. He went on to feature regularly in National League South, building on his reputation as a dependable option on the flank.
Across his time at the level, Adenola has made 47 National League South appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists, as well as featuring in the FA Cup. His minutes in league and cup underline consistent involvement over multiple campaigns rather than short-term spells.
Before moving to Hemel, Adenola had climbed through the non-league system with a series of moves across the London and south-east scene. He signed for Hendon from Harrow Borough in 2023 after earlier stints at Holmesdale, Erith & Belvedere and Thamesmead Town, typically moving on free transfers as he progressed.
Eligible for both England and Nigeria, Adenola now enters the market without a club for the first time since turning senior, following his official departure from Hemel on 17 July 2026.
