Jordan Zemura: Watford linked with move for Udinese left-back
Jordan Zemura, the Zimbabwe international left-back at Udinese, is being linked with a return to English football with Championship side Watford reportedly exploring a move for the defender. The 26-year-old, who was born in London and also holds English nationality, is under contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2027, meaning Udinese would be in a strong position in any negotiations.
Zemura joined Udinese from Bournemouth on a free transfer in July 2023 and has since established himself in Italy’s top flight, making 67 Serie A appearances and contributing two goals and four assists. His form in Udine has helped maintain a market value of around €5 million, a figure that is likely to frame any discussions over a potential deal.
Watford, operating in the Championship, are assessing defensive options as they look to bolster the left side of their back line, and Zemura’s experience in both English and Italian football is understood to have put him on their shortlist. Before moving to Serie A, he featured in the Premier League and Championship for Bournemouth, making 19 top-flight appearances and 35 in the second tier.
Having progressed through Charlton Athletic’s youth system before switching to Bournemouth’s academy and then breaking into senior football, Zemura has already experienced several changes of environment in his career. For now, however, he remains an Udinese player with another year left on his deal beyond this season, and any move to Watford would require the Italian club’s agreement.
