Kevin Okumu: Kenyan right-back joins Nairobi United from KCB Nairobi in confirmed move

Kenyan defender Kevin Okumu has joined Nairobi United from KCB Nairobi in a completed transfer that strengthens the new club’s options at right-back ahead of the coming campaign.

The 28-year-old, who specialises as a right-back, makes the switch within the Kenyan game after a four-year spell at KCB, having moved there from Nairobi City Stars in August 2022. His arrival at Nairobi United was finalised on 17 July 2026.

Okumu’s move brings in an experienced domestic player familiar with top-flight conditions in Nairobi, adding depth and competition on the right side of defence. At 28, he is in what is often considered a defender’s peak years, and his profile fits a club looking for a reliable option in the back line rather than a developmental signing.
