Nader Ghandri: Tunisia defender linked with Pyramids FC move from Swehly SC

Tunisia international defender Nader Ghandri, who plays for Libyan champions Swehly SC, is being linked with a move to Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC.

The 31-year-old centre-back, valued at around €900,000, is understood to be on the Cairo club’s radar after helping Swehly secure the Libyan league title in the 2025-26 campaign. Pyramids FC are looking to reinforce their defence with experienced options as they continue to target domestic and continental success.

Standing at 1.97m and right-footed, Ghandri joined Swehly from Russian Premier Liga side Akhmat Grozny on a free transfer in February 2026 and quickly established himself as a key figure, featuring in the Libyan Premier League and contributing an assist across eight league appearances. His performances in North Africa follow an extensive spell in European football, including 60 Ligue 1 appearances and more than 50 games in the Russian top flight earlier in his career.

Ghandri, born in Aubervilliers and holding both Tunisian and French nationality, has also featured in continental competition, including the CAF Confederation Cup, where he has scored twice in 11 outings. That experience is thought to be particularly attractive to Pyramids FC as they plan for future African campaigns.

The defender’s contract length at Swehly has not been made public, but his recent arrival and role in their title-winning season means the Libyan club are expected to drive a hard bargain if talks with Pyramids FC progress.
