Idris Amara Sylla: Juventus U20’s Franco-Senegalese midfielder linked with senior promotion to Serie A side Juventus
France and Senegal youth midfielder Idris Amara Sylla, currently with Juventus U20, is being linked with a step up into the senior Juventus squad in Serie A as the club assesses its options in defensive midfield.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Turin side’s youth ranks in 2023 before moving up to the U20 group in July 2024, is under contract until 30 June 2027 but is understood to be under consideration for an internal promotion rather than an external move. Juventus are closely monitoring his progress in the Primavera 1 set-up as they plan the next phase of his development.
Sylla has already featured regularly this season at youth level, including appearances in Primavera 1 and the UEFA Youth League, as the club tests him in both domestic and European environments. His cup displays have also drawn attention, with a goal and an assist recorded in the Coppa Primavera.
Born in April 2007 and eligible for both France and Senegal, Sylla has been deployed predominantly as a defensive midfielder for Juventus U20. His current situation reflects the club’s broader strategy of integrating academy talent into the first-team picture when contract security and game exposure align.
With three years remaining on his deal, Juventus have no immediate pressure to make a definitive decision on his long-term future, but internal discussions over a potential senior squad role are thought to be ongoing as the Turin club evaluates its midfield depth.
