AIK eye move for Arsenal loanee Charles Sagoe Jr

AIK are exploring a move for Charles Sagoe Jr as they look to refresh their attack after several summer departures from the Allsvenskan club.

The Stockholm side have so far only added centre-back Herve Matthys, and local reports say Sagoe Jr has now become a priority option to strengthen their forward line.

Sagoe Jr is currently on loan at Kalmar FF from Arsenal for the full 2026 season, but that arrangement is not viewed as an obstacle to a potential transfer. The English winger has impressed in Sweden, scoring once and providing seven assists, which has caught AIK’s attention as they search for creativity and end product in the final third.

His rise has been steady. In September 2023, Sagoe Jr was called into Arsenal’s first-team training ahead of a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven, a key early step into the senior setup.

He made his professional debut for Arsenal on 27 September 2023, starting on the left wing in an EFL Cup win at Brentford and playing 68 minutes before being replaced by Gabriel Jesus. He later left Arsenal to join Kalmar FF on loan in January 2026, where his form has now opened the door to AIK’s interest.
