Noel Aseko set for Eintracht Frankfurt move from Bayern Munich
German-born midfielder of Equatorial Guinea descent, Noel Aseko, is closing in on a permanent move from Bayern Munich to Eintracht Frankfurt, with the two Bundesliga clubs reportedly close to finalising an agreement.
According to Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg, the transfer is expected to be completed this week, with only the formalities remaining before the deal is officially announced.
Frankfurt move to secure highly-rated youngster
Eintracht Frankfurt have stepped up their pursuit of the 20-year-old after reaching an agreement in principle with Bayern Munich over the transfer fee.
Reports indicate that the fixed fee will be at least €12 million, after Bayern initially sought a package worth up to €15 million for the highly-rated defender.
Frankfurt’s latest offer is understood to have convinced Bayern to move towards completing the transfer.
Long-term project awaits
Aseko is expected to sign a long-term contract with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he will be given the opportunity for regular first-team football.
The Bundesliga side view the young defender as an important investment for the future and believe consistent playing time will accelerate his development at the highest level.
Major step in youngster’s career
The move would mark a significant milestone in Aseko’s career as he seeks greater opportunities in Germany’s top flight.
For Frankfurt, the signing would strengthen their options in midfield and defence while adding one of the game’s promising young talents ahead of the new season.
An official announcement is expected once the remaining paperwork between the two clubs has been completed.
