Michael Olise decides to stay at Bayern Munich

Michael Olise has decided to remain at Bayern Munich, bringing clarity to his future after fresh rumours about a move to Real Madrid.

The French winger has informed Bayern’s hierarchy that he wants to stay, reassuring the club following reports that Madrid were ready to test their resolve this summer.

Olise made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern on 25 August 2024 in a 3-2 away victory against VfL Wolfsburg, starting as a right winger under head coach Vincent Kompany. He scored his first Bundesliga goal for the club on 14 September 2024 during a 4-0 home win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Spanish media had suggested Olise was keen on joining Real and linking up with France teammate Kylian Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Sky Sport Germany report that journalists Florian Plettenberg and Florian Hartmann now understand the 24-year-old has made it clear he is committed to Bayern instead.

Olise enjoyed an outstanding first season in Munich after his transfer from Crystal Palace, quickly becoming one of the Bundesliga champions’ most dangerous attacking players and a standout talent in Europe. His decision to stay is therefore a significant boost for Bayern, who can plan the coming campaign knowing one of their key creative forces will remain in place.
