Landry Niaore: Ivorian winger returns to FC Challans on free transfer from Chataigneraie

Ivorian left winger Landry Niaore has rejoined French side FC Challans from Chataigneraie on a free transfer. The 31-year-old, born in Abolo, returns to the club where he has already enjoyed a productive spell in the French lower divisions.

Niaore, who specialises on the left flank in attack, switches back to Challans after a season with Chataigneraie in National 2 Group B. He had moved there from Sable FC in August 2025, also on a free, and now heads once more to familiar surroundings as Challans prepare for the new campaign.

This is Niaore’s second homecoming at Challans. He first arrived at the club from Contres in July 2020 and went on to establish himself as a regular performer, later departing for Sable FC in the summer of 2024. His career in France has been built around moves within the National 2 setup, with all his recent transfers completed without a fee.

Across his time in the French fourth tier, Niaore has recorded more than 110 league appearances, contributing 22 goals and 25 assists in National 2 competition, and he has also featured in the Coupe de France. That level of experience at this tier underpins Challans’ decision to bring him back into their squad.

Niaore’s latest switch sees him re-join FC Challans for the 2026-27 season on a free transfer from Chataigneraie.
