Mariano Ake: Burkina Faso–Ivory Coast winger joins CD Ebro on free transfer
Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast winger Mariano Ake has joined Spanish side CD Ebro on a free transfer from Arandina. The 24-year-old right-sided attacker has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the Segunda Federacion Group II club.
Ake switches to Ebro after a spell with Arandina, whom he joined in August 2025, also as a free agent. His move continues a career built in Spain’s lower divisions, where he has operated predominantly as a right winger, favouring his right foot.
Last season in the Segunda Federacion, Ake featured regularly, making 35 appearances in Group II and adding further outings in Group IV and the promotion play-offs. Across those competitions he totalled more than 2,400 minutes of action and scored five league goals in Group II, underlining his experience at this level of the Spanish pyramid.
Born in Abidjan on 17 August 2001, Ake first came to Spain as a teenager, moving from Ac. Tenakourou to Alaves’ youth set-up in 2019. He later progressed to senior football with San Ignacio before stepping up to Alaves B in 2022. After leaving Alaves B in 2024, he rebuilt his career with CD Estepona and then Arandina, earning his latest move to Zaragoza-based Ebro.
CD Ebro have secured Ake on a permanent free transfer, tying the winger down for the 2026-27 season and beyond.
