Yanis Benchaouch: Morocco-France goalkeeper joins Red Star FC on free transfer
Yanis Benchaouch, the Morocco-France goalkeeper, has joined Red Star FC on a free transfer from Monaco U21. The 20-year-old has moved into the Ligue 2 club’s ranks after leaving the principality side’s development set-up at the end of last season.
Benchaouch, who stands at 1.88m and plays in goal with his right foot, arrives at Red Star with a market value of €75,000. He links up with the Parisian club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign as they shape their squad for life in France’s second tier.
Born in Perigueux in April 2006, Benchaouch has come through Monaco’s youth system over the past five years. He first joined AS Monaco’s academy from Trelissac at youth level, progressing from the U17s to the U19s before stepping up to Monaco U21 in 2023.
At youth level he has already collected notable honours. Benchaouch was part of the AS Monaco U19 side that won the French Youth Cup in the 2022-23 season. Internationally, he has represented Morocco at youth level and was in the squad that won the Under-20 World Cup in 2025.
Red Star’s signing of Benchaouch is a permanent move and he departs Monaco U21 without a transfer fee being paid.
