Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Deportivo La Coruña

Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is poised to embark on a new chapter in his illustrious career after reaching an agreement to join newly promoted Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña.

The veteran Gabonese striker has enjoyed a remarkable journey at the highest level of world football, representing some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including AC Milan, Saint-Étienne, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Marseille and Al-Qadsiah.

Despite entering the latter stages of his career, Aubameyang has no plans to retire and is now set for another challenge in Spain.

According to reports, a full agreement has been reached between all parties for the 36-year-old to complete a move to Deportivo La Coruña. The transfer is now in its final stages, with the experienced forward expected to undergo a medical examination before officially signing his contract.

Marseille will receive a transfer fee of €1.5 million for the Gabon international, bringing an end to his spell with the French club.

Aubameyang’s arrival represents a major statement of intent from Deportivo as they prepare for life back in La Liga. The historic Spanish club secured automatic promotion after finishing second in the Segunda División last season, earning a return to Spain’s top flight for the first time in eight years.

Deportivo are determined to re-establish themselves among Spain’s elite, and the signing of a player with Aubameyang’s pedigree and experience would provide a significant boost ahead of the new campaign.

Throughout his career, Aubameyang has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most clinical forwards. His blistering pace, intelligent movement and eye for goal have seen him score consistently across Germany, England, France and Spain while collecting numerous individual and team honours.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal captain also enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona, making him well acquainted with the demands of La Liga. That experience is expected to prove invaluable as Deportivo aim to secure their top-flight status and compete against Spain’s biggest clubs.

For Aubameyang, the move offers another opportunity to demonstrate that he can still perform at the highest level despite his advancing years. His leadership qualities and wealth of experience are expected to make him a key figure both on and off the pitch.

With a full agreement already in place and only the medical remaining before the transfer is completed, Aubameyang appears set to begin a fresh adventure with Deportivo La Coruña as the newly promoted side look to make a strong impression on their long-awaited return to La Liga.
