Tawfik Bentayeb: Union SG eye move for Moroccan striker from Union Touarga

Tawfik Bentayeb, the Moroccan centre-forward currently at Union Touarga, is being linked with a move to Belgian side Union SG in the Jupiler Pro League. The 24-year-old, who was born in Casablanca and stands at 1.80m, has emerged as a potential attacking reinforcement after an eye-catching spell in France’s Ligue 2.

Bentayeb spent last season on loan at Troyes, where he scored 28 goals and contributed four assists in 57 Ligue 2 appearances, averaging a goal roughly every 112 minutes. That form saw him finish the 2025-26 campaign as the division’s top scorer with 18 league goals, significantly boosting his reputation and drawing interest from abroad.

Union Touarga secured Bentayeb permanently in 2021 from AM Football and have twice loaned him to Europe, first to Rodez and then to Troyes, as his market value climbed to €8m by the end of his latest loan. He also has experience in domestic competition with Touarga in the Botola Pro Inwi, where he has scored 14 times in 48 appearances, and has had a brief taste of continental action in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The forward, a left-footer whose main position is through the middle, returned to Union Touarga at the end of June following the conclusion of his loan in France. With no public indication of a fixed contract end date, the Moroccan club are well placed to demand a substantial fee should Union SG move from interest to formal negotiations.
