Ibrahim Mbaye: PSG’s Franco-Senegalese winger linked with RB Leipzig move
Ibrahim Mbaye, the Franco-Senegalese right winger currently at Paris Saint-Germain, is being linked with a move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig as the German club explore attacking reinforcements this summer.
The 18-year-old, who is under contract at PSG until 30 June 2028, has a current market valuation of €30m and is viewed as a significant asset by the French champions. Any potential deal is therefore expected to require a substantial fee, with Leipzig understood to be targeting players capable of making an immediate impact in the Bundesliga and in Europe.
Mbaye has broken into the PSG first team after progressing through the club’s youth ranks, stepping up from the under-23s to the senior squad in July 2025. He made 33 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists, while also featuring in the Champions League and Club World Cup as PSG collected major honours, including back-to-back Champions League titles.
Born in Trappes in January 2008 and comfortable cutting in from the right on his preferred right foot, Mbaye has also gained experience on the international stage, appearing at the 2026 World Cup and scoring once in four matches.
Leipzig have a recent history of investing in young attacking talent from across Europe, and Mbaye’s combination of senior minutes in a title-winning side and exposure to elite competition has placed him on the radar of clubs outside France. For now, PSG hold the winger on a long-term deal that runs through 2028, leaving the French club in a strong position should formal talks with Leipzig develop.
