Mohamed El Ghandour: Egyptian goalkeeper joins FC Ibach on free transfer from SC Buochs

Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El Ghandour has joined Swiss side FC Ibach on a free transfer from SC Buochs. The 28-year-old has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the 2. Liga Inter – Group 4 club.

El Ghandour, who stands at 1.80m and is right-footed, makes the switch after a spell with Buochs in the Swiss 1. Liga Group 2, having moved there in February 2025, also as a free agent. His move to Ibach continues a period of his career spent in Swiss football following several seasons in his homeland.

Before arriving in Switzerland, El Ghandour built his career in Egypt with a series of clubs, including Entag El Harby and Makadi. He initially stepped up from Al Ahly’s youth ranks, where he was previously loaned out to G. Shebin and Talaea El Gaish to gain senior experience, before leaving Al Ahly’s under-21 set-up permanently for Entag El Harby in 2019.

A loan move from Entag El Harby to La Viena FC in 2022 was later made permanent when he returned to his parent club at the end of the spell, underscoring a career marked by regular moves but consistent involvement at first-team level. His historical highest market valuation reached €50,000 during his time in Egyptian football.

El Ghandour’s arrival gives FC Ibach another specialist option in goal as they prepare for the new campaign, with the Egyptian now tied to the club for the 2026-27 season.
