Gabon midfielder Meshak Babanzila has joined Gimnastic de Tarragona from CE Europa, signing a contract with the Primera Federacion side until 30 June 2029. The 25-year-old central midfielder makes the move within the same division, strengthening Gimnastic’s options in the middle of the pitch ahead of the new campaign.

Babanzila arrives with a growing reputation in Spanish football after his spell at CE Europa, where he established himself in Primera Federacion Group II. He initially signed for the Barcelona-based club in October 2024 after a short period without a team, rebuilding his career and earning a step up to Gimnastic on the back of consistent performances.

Born in Libreville and standing at 1.71m, the right-footed midfielder has accumulated significant experience across the Spanish lower leagues. Between league and cup competitions, he has passed 6,000 senior minutes, featuring regularly in both Segunda Federacion and Primera Federacion as well as appearing in the Copa del Rey and Copa Federacion.

Before moving to Spain, Babanzila came through the ranks in Gabon with AC Libreville after time at the Eto’o Academy, then moved to Europe with Paris FC’s reserve side. A switch to Terrassa FC in 2022 gave him his first taste of Spanish football, leading eventually to his breakthrough with CE Europa and now a long-term deal with Gimnastic.

Babanzila’s transfer from CE Europa to Gimnastic is a permanent move and ties the Gabon international to the Tarragona club until the summer of 2029.
