Yaya Bojang: Gambian Odense BK defender linked with Alverca move

Yaya Bojang, the Gambian centre-back currently at Odense BK, is being linked with a move to Portuguese side Alverca in Liga Portugal. The 21-year-old, under contract with the Danish club until 30 June 2027, has emerged as a reported target after establishing himself in the Superliga.

Bojang’s potential switch comes as his stock continues to rise following his first-team exposure in Denmark. The right-footed defender has featured in the Superliga for Odense, making 18 appearances and registering one assist, as well as gaining experience in the relegation round and domestic cup. His performances have contributed to Odense’s recent progress, including a Danish second tier title in 2025.

Odense signed Bojang permanently from Real de Banjul in January 2024 for a reported €50,000 fee, having first brought him into their U19 set-up on loan earlier that season. Since then, his market value has climbed to €800,000, reflecting his development and increased role in the senior squad.

A move to Alverca would represent Bojang’s first step into Portuguese football, following spells in The Gambia and Denmark. While discussions over a transfer fee or structure have not been disclosed, any agreement would need to account for the length remaining on his current deal in Odense.

For now, Bojang remains on the books at Odense BK, where he is contracted through to the summer of 2027.
