Mohamed Salah open to Chelsea return

Egyptian international Mohamed Salah has once again become the centre of attention in London amid fresh speculation linking the Egyptian superstar with a possible return to Chelsea.

However, despite the growing rumours, there are currently no concrete discussions between Salah and Chelsea, with no negotiations taking place and no agreement reached between the two parties.

According to reports, the situation remains at an early stage, with the possibility of a reunion depending on whether Chelsea decide to make an official approach for the former Liverpool forward.

As per reports, Salah has informed people close to him that he would be open to a sensational return to Stamford Bridge. It is further suggested that Chelsea are the only English club the Egyptian captain would consider joining should he decide to continue his career in the Premier League.

Despite Salah’s reported willingness to make a comeback, there is currently no indication that Chelsea are preparing an immediate move for the player. The decision remains in the hands of the club, who have not yet taken any formal steps to secure his signature.

Salah is now a free agent following the conclusion of his extraordinary nine-year spell with Liverpool. The Reds confirmed in March that the Egyptian would leave the club at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing an end to one of the most successful individual eras in the club’s modern history.

During his time at Anfield, Salah established himself as one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players, playing a key role in multiple trophy successes and breaking numerous goalscoring records. His consistency, leadership, and influence made him a fan favourite and a Premier League icon.

A return to Chelsea would represent a remarkable twist in Salah’s career. The winger initially joined the Blues from Basel in 2014 but struggled to establish himself in Jose Mourinho’s squad, making just six Premier League starts before leaving England for Italy and eventually rebuilding his career at Roma.

The Egyptian later returned to the Premier League with Liverpool in 2017 and enjoyed a historic period at Anfield, winning major honours including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

Out of the 300 Premier League matches Salah has started, only six came during his Chelsea spell, while the remaining 294 appearances as a starter were made in Liverpool colours.

With Salah now available as a free agent, interest from clubs across Europe and beyond is expected to increase. Whether Chelsea make a move for a player who once left Stamford Bridge as an unfinished talent remains to be seen, but the possibility of a dramatic reunion has already captured attention across English football.
