Semi Belkahia: Germany-Tunisia defender linked with Saarbrucken move in 3. Liga rumour
Germany-Tunisia centre-back Semi Belkahia, currently a free agent after leaving his last club, is being linked with a move to 3. Liga side Saarbrucken. The 27-year-old defender, born in Munich and able to play with both feet, is understood to be under consideration as Saarbrucken look to reinforce their back line ahead of the new campaign.
Belkahia, who stands at 1.93m, has built up significant experience in Germany’s third tier, making 119 appearances in the 3. Liga and scoring nine goals. That volume of game time at this level is thought to appeal to Saarbrucken as they target proven options with a track record in the division.
The defender’s most recent spell brought notable success, including winning the German third tier title with Arminia Bielefeld in the 2024-25 season. He also featured in the club’s run to the German Cup final in the same campaign, finishing as runner-up, and lifted the Westphalia Cup in both 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Belkahia’s current market value has been estimated at around €225,000, but with the player without a club since the start of July 2026, any deal with Saarbrucken would not require a transfer fee. That status is believed to make him an attainable target for a side operating within 3. Liga budgets, as talks over defensive reinforcements continue.
