Elye Wahi: Besiktas eye move for Eintracht Frankfurt and France forward
Elye Wahi, the France and Cote d’Ivoire forward currently at Eintracht Frankfurt, is being linked with a summer move to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas. The Istanbul club are monitoring the 23-year-old centre-forward as they assess options to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
Wahi returned to Frankfurt this summer after a loan spell at Nice, and is under contract with the Bundesliga side until 30 June 2030. Any talks are expected to be complicated by his long-term deal and a current market valuation of around €18 million, with Frankfurt under no immediate pressure to sell.
The forward only joined Eintracht in January 2025 from Marseille in a deal worth €26 million, following a sequence of high-profile moves within Ligue 1. He had previously been transferred from Montpellier to Lens for €30 million in August 2023 and then from Lens to Marseille in August 2024.
Besiktas’ interest comes as Wahi continues to build his reputation in European competition, having already scored in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League earlier in his career. He has also been involved on the international stage at the 2026 World Cup, making three appearances.
Before leaving France for Germany, Wahi produced 49 goals and 14 assists in 139 Ligue 1 appearances, underlining the level of end product that has attracted Besiktas’ attention. For now, he remains part of Frankfurt’s plans going into the season, protected by a contract that runs for another four years.
