Yan Diomande: Man City eye €90m move for RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast winger

Yan Diomande, the Ivory Coast left winger currently at RB Leipzig, is being linked with a high-profile move to Premier League champions Manchester City. The 19-year-old, who is under contract with Leipzig until 30 June 2030, has emerged as a target after a standout first full season in the Bundesliga.

Diomande’s rising status is underlined by a current valuation of around €90m, reflecting the impact he has made since arriving in Germany last summer. Signed from CD Leganes on 16 July 2025 for a fee of €20m, he swiftly established himself as a key attacking option for Leipzig.

In the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign, Diomande registered 12 goals and nine assists in 33 appearances, delivering that output across 2,483 minutes. Operating primarily from the left flank but favouring his right foot, he offered a consistent threat in the final third and contributed further with a goal and an assist in the DFB-Pokal.

His domestic form was strong enough to carry into the international stage, where he featured at the 2026 World Cup, starting all four of Ivory Coast’s matches and providing one assist while playing the vast majority of minutes available.

Born in Abidjan on 14 November 2006 and standing at 1.80m, Diomande has progressed rapidly since leaving the Ivory Coast for opportunities abroad, with his surge in market value from €1.5m at the time of his move to Leipzig to €90m in just a year underlining that trajectory.

With four years still remaining on his Leipzig deal, any approach from Manchester City would require a substantial offer to persuade the Bundesliga club to consider a sale.
