Ben Soilihi Aboubacar: France-Comoros defender returns to US Chauvigny on free transfer
France-Comoros centre-back Ben Soilihi Aboubacar has rejoined US Chauvigny from Stade Poitevin on a free transfer, strengthening the French side’s defensive options ahead of the new campaign.
The 29-year-old defender, who prefers to operate at the heart of the back line, arrives after a spell with regional rivals Stade Poitevin, once again switching between the two clubs in a move that has become a recurring feature of his career. The deal is a permanent free transfer, completed on 14 July 2026.
Aboubacar is no stranger to Chauvigny. He first signed for the club in 2019 and has since alternated between US Chauvigny and Stade Poitevin several times, building a substantial body of experience in the French lower divisions. His latest stint at Poitevin followed a move from Saint-Pierroise earlier in the 2025-26 season, also on a free.
Across his time in the French National divisions and the Coupe de France, Aboubacar has surpassed 120 senior appearances, with over 8,500 minutes of competitive football. The bulk of that has come in National 1 and National 2, where he has featured consistently in both Group A and Group B, underlining his ability to handle the demands of semi-professional and professional tiers.
The right-footed defender’s return gives US Chauvigny a familiar and experienced presence at centre-back as they prepare for the upcoming season, with Aboubacar once again officially registered as a US Chauvigny player from mid-July 2026.
