Walid Ateya: Egyptian forward returns to Mansoura from Proxy FC
Egyptian centre-forward Walid Ateya has rejoined Mansoura from Proxy FC, sealing a move back to the club where he first made his name. The 28-year-old, who plays primarily through the middle and favours his right foot, arrives after a spell on the books of the Egyptian side Proxy FC.
Ateya, born on 14 February 1998, returns to Mansoura for a second permanent stint, having previously represented the club before moving to Ismaily in 2016. His latest switch follows an 18-month period in which he was contracted to Proxy FC and spent part of last season on loan at Tanta SC, with that temporary deal ending in June 2026.
The forward has experience in Egypt’s top flight, where he has made 10 Premier League appearances and scored once, as well as featuring in the Egypt Cup. Earlier in his career he also had spells with clubs including El Mahalla, Petrojet, Harras Hodoud, El Raja, Petrol Asyut and Wadi Degla, building a CV across several levels of the domestic game.
Ateya originally joined Proxy FC on a free transfer from Wadi Degla in July 2025 before being loaned to Tanta in January 2026. His move to Mansoura marks a permanent break from that arrangement and a fresh chapter at a familiar home.
Mansoura have now completed the signing of Ateya from Proxy FC, with the Egypt forward officially joining the club on 14 July 2026.
