Emmanuel Mbemba: France-DR Congo defender linked with Paris FC move
France-DR Congo left-back Emmanuel Mbemba, currently without a club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain’s youth set-up, is being linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Paris FC. The 18-year-old defender, who was born in Melun and plays primarily at left-back, is understood to be under consideration as Paris FC look to add depth on the left side of their defence following promotion to the top flight.
Mbemba departed Paris Saint-Germain’s U19s at the start of July and is available as a free agent, making a deal financially straightforward for Paris FC if they choose to proceed. He had stepped up to PSG’s U19s in 2024 after arriving from Melun FC’s youth ranks the previous year, progressing through the age groups in Paris.
Last season Mbemba featured regularly at U19 level, making 32 appearances in the National U19 league and gaining further experience in the Coupe Gambardella and UEFA Youth League. He was part of the PSG U19 side that won back-to-back French U19 titles, including the 2025-26 campaign, and also lifted the French Youth Cup in the same season.
A naturally left-footed defender standing at 1.79m, Mbemba has represented both France and DR Congo at youth level in terms of eligibility and is now at a key juncture in his early career, with his next move likely to bring a first opportunity in senior football. For now he remains unattached after his PSG contract expired at the start of July, leaving him free to negotiate with Paris FC or any other interested club.
