Sadok Touj: Tunisia defender returns home to sign for ES Zarzis on free transfer

Tunisia centre-back Sadok Touj has joined ES Zarzis on a free transfer from Libyan side Al-Wefaq Ly. The 29-year-old has signed a contract with the Tunisian club running until 30 June 2028.

Touj moves back into Tunisian Ligue 1 after a spell in the Libyan Premier League, where he made 28 appearances and scored twice for Al-Wefaq Ly. He had arrived there from Al-Madina, also in Libya, having switched clubs several times in North Africa in recent seasons.

Standing at 1.90m, Touj adds height and experience to the ES Zarzis defence, returning to a league where he previously featured for US Tataouine and Stade Tunisien. His career has also included time in the Saudi First Division League, contributing across 13 matches during his stint there.

Touj’s most recent period in Tunisia came with Stade Tunisien before his move to Al-Akhdar in 2023, where he built a profile that once saw his market value rise as high as €450,000. His current valuation stands at around €150,000, reflecting his status as an established defender in the region.

The Tunisian international signs for ES Zarzis with a deal that secures his services for the next two seasons following the completion of his free transfer from Al-Wefaq Ly.
